Hinata feels a small lump in his throat appear at those words and he opens his mouth, his head moving in a small shake. He was worried that Hinata wouldn't wake up?]

[Of course he was worried! The fact that Hinata was unconscious and he couldn't wake him -- and he couldn't figure out why. Most of his injuries looked superficial, after all, so not being able to explain it or fix it.

But it's okay. Here they are, and he's awake, and okay so one eye isn't working, but they can figure that out. And if not Komaeda will be his other eye!! Somehow. It'll probably end in disaster, but he'll try his very hardest.]

Hajime... good. Don't. If you did, especially like that, I'd be angry at you for sure. [Except he'd actually be mostly distraught and shattered, but he's trying to look tough here.]

[Hinata makes a sheepish sound, his head ducking.]

I won't. I promise. [He couldn't have prepared for that, though he wishes he had brought along more things with him in anticipation of security bots and all of what did happen. He'll remember next time. Spare no caution, with CERES.

Good. If it's a promise, you can't go breaking it.

[He knows that isn't how this works, that Hinata wouldn't choose to in this case but circumstances are often out of both their control.

But at least they have been reminded about the need for caution. Komaeda smooths a hand over Hinata's hair once more. It really would be best if he rested for a little while, right? Even if he knows Hinata wnats to go protagonist.]

[Hinata's forgetting a little about his protagonist-ing when Komaeda pets his hair... Mmm. It feels so nice. He wants to cuddle in and fall right to sleep but he's resisting. Something in his mind is reminding him he should make sure to get in touch with people...

[Just as planned! Komaeda's devious scheme works again... except this scheme is less murdery and more keep Hinata quiet and resting...y. Also so far it's working and not backfiring horribly.

So more hair letting as he drops his voice to a softer tone.] I know. Hajime's word is good. Right now... promise you'll take care of yourself okay?

[He knows Hinata pushes himself so hard sometimes. Too hard. He's only human at the end of the day -- a squishy fragile human.]

[So crafty. Hinata's vaguely aware of it, but not enough to try to fight it. He's comfortable and Komaeda's a reassuring warmth. Besides, his voice is pleasant when he lowers it like that, and Hinata feels a warmth settling in his chest when he hears his name.]

[Perfect. Just give in, Hinata. Komaeda will stay and hold him and pet his hair until he's sure he's asleep at the very least. Actually, he may just stay the whole time through because, well, it's reassuring for him too, to have Hinata close and okay after the nervousness over his condition earlier.]
