[That's not what he was getting at, Komaeda. But Komaeda is ignoring the griping and instead just laughing as he's ruffled. Jeez. He nods in agreement.] Mm! I think that's a good plan.

But somehow you're gorgeous as always. It doesn't seem fair, does it?

[He sighs. SIGHS. So heavily. Woe is Komaeda having a cute boyfriend. His life is suffering.]

[Hinata pauses and looks over at him, quirking an eyebrow.] I'm pretty sure me being a mess in the morning isn't gorgeous...

[He pushes himself up to his feet, just laughing at his sigh and offering a hand.

C'mon, boyfriend. Upsy-daisy.]

[A shake of his head at that.] You've got that wrong.

[TAKE THAT. Even sleep-mussed Hinata is gorgeous. All of Hinata. Komaeda will argue this straight through if he has to. BUt instead he just smiles as Hinata laughs, reaching for that hand.

All right here he comes. Time for Christmas.]

[Hinata's eyebrow lifts. Oh? Oh, he went there, did he? They can turn this into a trial, you know, even if it's Christmas-- but he pulls him up instead and kisses his mouth firmly before stepping away.]

We can argue over it later, right?

[For now, presents! And breakfast! Romantic, stupid things.]

[Of course he went there, Hinata. It's Komaeda. He's kind that kind of guy. In the end there's no helping it. But he lets himself be pulled up, caught downright speechless by that kiss. Ooh. Merry Christmas indeed.]

It's Christmas, Hajime... we shouldn't argue. Since it's the holiday, I'd just let you win anyway.

[...sorry. But he reaches for the edge of Hinata's shirt Hinata's and tugs gently as he steps past him towards the door to the bedroom and the kitchen.] Let's have breakfast.

[Hinata raises his eyebrow.]

I wouldn't need you to let me win-- I'd win all on my own.

[Huffing playfully, he walks after him out of the bedroom, his fingers reaching out to graze his back, between his shoulders, trailing up toward the back of his neck and head. He's getting a thorough fluffing as they head toward the kitchen.]

Ooh. Well... confidence is awfully sexy.

[Apparently this is the mood that Komaeda woke up in this Christmas. This is what happens when he gets to wake up and be cuddled and happily and spend time with his boyfriend. Sorry, Hinata.

He won't even squawk as he's fluffed as they go because that's attention too. He only ducks his head with a laugh.] Shall we cook together, Hajime?

[Hinata blushes-- but he's pretty pleased to hear that, even if it's embarrassing. He moves to pull Komaeda after him into the kitchen, over to the fridge to pull out a few ingredients.]

Yeah... Let's make breakfast together.

[Eggs, some vegetables, bacon, it'd be nice to make a big omelette out of this...]

[Komaeda lets himself be pulled. And while Hinata gets ingredients out, he'll find pans and spatulas. These domestic moments are important to him, so there's a smile touching over his features even as he just goes about getting these things out and ready. Living together with Hinata, it's times like this when it hits him that they really are living this life together and how precious it is to him.

No matter what else happens this Christmas, it's already the best one that he's ever had. He peeks over at what Hinata is assembling.] So what are we making?

An omelette! A really big omelette.

[Hinata grins at him.] I figured we could share it. What d'you think? [He'd been originally planning to make a big fancy breakfast but, you know what, something like this is nice, too. It means they can eat bites of it together.]

[Sleeping in, cuddling and sharing food? Everything is coming up Komaeda today. So he's quick to nod in pleased agreement at that suggestion.] I think it sounds like a great idea.

I can start cutting the vegetables?

[Yes. Entrust him with a knife. At least he only has five fingers he can actually cut off. The rest are pretty knife proof thanks to Hinata's help.]

[Hinata grins and nods, pushing the knife his way. Go ahead, Komaeda! He does trust him with a knife, thinks he's quite coordinated enough to handle it. He'll set to frying up bacon and stuff to go into the omelet.]

Just put 'em in when they're ready.

[He nods at his pan.]

[Coordinated sure. But you just wait for his luck to kick in. But it's Christmas and Hinata's here, so it should be okay, right? Maybe. Probably.

Anyway he's going to set about cutting up the veggies into little bits, humming to himself as he does.

And when they're ready he'll reach around Hinata and start tossing them into the pan. Cooking together is probably way more fun than it should be. He's feeling so sappy today.] It smells good already.

[Hinata turns his head slightly, watching him with a quirk of his lips into a smile as the veggies are put in the pan. He hums, stirring them in with the other parts he's cooking and turning to a bowl to get the eggs for the omelet mixed up.]

It'll taste just as good.

[HE'LL GUARANTEE IT. Blah blah insert sappy thing about being tastier b/c they made it together here blah blah.]

With Hajime cooking it, I don't think there's any other option possible.

[His boyfriend has skills. Many and multiple skills. Komaeda, done with his cutting part of this process, he sets the cutting board and knife into the sink before going back to lean against the counter by Hinata, watching him cook.]

We don't have a lot of mornings where we take this sort of time. It's really nice.

[Hinata glances over at him, liking just having him there, even just watching. It makes him feel... really content.] Aa... it is nice to be able to sleep in, get up whenever and cook together like this...

It feels special.

[He leans over, to press a kiss to his cheek.]

Special... [Komaeda echoes before nodding in agreement. That's it exactly. It's special to have this time together. He's not bothering to hide how happy he is about it either, leaning towards that kiss to his cheek, head turning so he can repeat the gesture against Hinata's cheek.]

Very special. These kinds of moments... they're really important to me, you know.

[Making these memories, for as long as they have to make them.]

[Hinata's eyes shut briefly in a pleased expression as his cheek is kissed right back, and he nuzzles that cheek briefly against Komaeda. Turning back to the frying pan, he flips over their food.]

I know. They're precious to me, too.

[Every one... he wants to keep safe in his memory. He doesn't ever want to forget. And when he goes back, then...] I'd like to make a lot more of these with you, for a long time.

[Komaeda will stop distracting Hinata while he cooks. Mostly anyway. He smiles though, pleased by it, the fact that Hinata finds these moments precious too. He ducks his head, like he's somehow trying to hide how happy he is about it, how touched he is by it.

He always is, in these moments, when it hits him so sharply that this is his life. That Hinata is with him, with him by choice. Because he wants to be. Because he loves him, and because Komaeda loves him in return. He doesn't ever want to forget either, doesn't want to lose this -- to returning, to the coma or to the diseases he tries not to think about.] Me too. It's what I want most of all. [His one most selfish desire.]

[Gosh, there he goes again. That's like his bad habit. Hinata reaches over to lightly flick his fingers against the bangs that cover up Komaeda's happy face, hiding it from him. He just watches him for a moment out of his periphery, smiling, before he has to look back at the pan.

Humming, he keeps on cooking.]

You've got it, [he assures him. He wants to make sure he'll have it later, too. For a long time.]

[Komaeda has many bad habits. Let's just face that okay? But for some reason Hinata puts up with him anyway. The flick of his hair has him looking up with a sheepish laugh slipping from his lips.]

So I do.

[Luckiest turn of his luck yet!] What do you want most of all, Hajime? [Maybe it's something Komaeda can get him! If it's something he can wrap in a box though he's already got his Christmas presents wrapped and under the tree.]

[Hinata pauses, looking over at him thoughtfully as he goes about serving the omelet onto a big plate that they can share from. He grabs a fork apiece for them before nodding for Komaeda to follow.]

Do you mean... generally? Or something that can be a present?

I think I mean both now that you ask about it.

[See Hinata, don't give him an inch he'll take a mile. He follows along with Hinata, beaming. Sharing food. Just wait until he tries to get Hinata to let him feed him. ...though Hinata has to see that coming by now, right?]

Though I would like to get you a good present someday. I'm not very good at gift giving. [But it's Christmas and he's tried!]

[INTO THE LIVING ROOM since it's a special occasion. They'll eat together in front of the tree, and Hinata places the plate on his knees and nods for Komaeda to sit opposite him.]

I'd be happy with anything, if it was coming from you.

[And that's true. He thinks about what he really wants most of all, though.] As for what I want most... I want to be with you. [And the others, of course, he wants to be with them all... but he longs to be with Komaeda, for a long time after this.]

[Komaeda is all too happy to settle himself down nearby Hinata, looking from the plate back up to the other boy. This is too nice. Some small part of him in the very back of his mind is still waiting for the other shoe to drop, but that voice has gotten much quieter over all this time.

But Hinata is being too good to him again. Happy with anything. Jeez. He's about to scold him for being too forgiving of his horrible taste in gifts, but then Hinata says the next thing and it stops him silent. There's no hiding the pleased smile stretching over his face. Hinata wants to be with him. The most.]

Then... we're in agreement. That's something I can give you. As long as I can.
